Ordinary Time?
Is there really any time of the year that seems ordinary? In this brief time between Christmas and Lent (Ash Wed. is Feb. 25th this year!), the Church recalls the time Jesus spent here on earth between his birth and death. And we know that for 30 of those "hidden" years, Jesus lived and worked doing ordinary, daily tasks. This is why even the "ordinary" daily routine can be sacred, how our mundane work and even small tasks can be now offered with Christ. In this time we recall the central message of Jesus' preaching: "The Kingdom of God is at hand!" Let us welcome him into our hearts, our lives, and yes, even our daily activities.
